Are you watching the same video? Because the context you describe doesn’t make any sense. They’re talking about Lin’s physical attributes and how they make him suited for playing ball. Kelly makes an eyes joke in the context of discussing a dude of East Asian descent. And you really think this is an innocent joke about the woman talking?

Well, good for you and your faith in people’s innate goodness. I’m still giving Kelly a side-eye. What you do is your business, and your prescriptivism for everyone else to “stop” can go sit on a bus seat made of razor blades.

Either that, or you can offer the rest of us visas to the magical world where your interpretation is the One True Truth.

Check out Greg Kelly of WNYW Fox 5 in New York making a questionable remark while discussing Jeremy Lin — specifically, a crack about his eyes.

I really wonder what would happen if Lin was way less nice about this bullshit. Not that I’m knocking Lin for being who he is - not at all. I just feel like folks don’t assume Asian Americans are going to get publicly, vocally pissed off (the ol’ “model minority” trap) and so say these racist things with impunity.
