Trailer for HBO’s upcoming series about Brooklynites, Girls

I’m sure somebody thought this was necessary, and I’m still trying to figure out why that person still has a job.

It’d bother me less if the retreading of unnecessary stories didn’t coincide with the dearth of series about browner folks doing their thing. Because I’m damn sure that this series will conveniently leave out the fact that Brooklyn is not a twee all-white village.

I’m thisclose to starting a blog called “Whose Brooklyn?” that highlights how fucking often this erasure happens. (The Baxter is another example that comes to mind, just off the top of my head.)
